Not enough time for Social Media

A lot of people ask me how do I do to be so active on Social Media, to be able to work a full time job and also be have a social life offline.

I am a graphic design consultant and work full time at KAI Design & Communication; at the office we also create art vernissages and networking events once a month with our sister company ‘EvenKai’. But I always find time to be active on several Social Media platforms.

Any pause during work is good to interact in Social Media, it can be during a coffee break, a smoke break, and of course there is lunch hour, you always have lunch break, don’t you? All these breaks let you have the opportunity to go online and be interactive. Use your time wisely and you will be able to be Social Media active very often.

If you have an intelligent phone, such as the iPhone, Blackberry or and Android compatible phone, then you have a lot more time than you think. Think about how much time you have while waiting in line, while riding the train or bus, while you take a break for a coffee, before the movie starts or while you are waiting for friends or family. I am actually on a train right now, using my time being productive.

Lets do an exercise and add the time that you have for yourself normally at home, there is the TV commercial break, bathroom time and those 15 minutes before going to sleep. Maybe there is more time that you imagine. It is up to you to manage your free time to use it on Social Media.

These breaks can give you enough time to be interactive. When you want to take a bigger break to do a blog post or something similar, maybe you can schedule that time weekly and make it work with your current schedule and occupations. You can start with the idea and then finish it during one of your breaks.

Do you still think there is no time to be active on Social Media?

Normally I struggle with finding the time for Social Media, I never realize I can use my daily commute for it
